Caring

"At B.E.S.T, we believe that all teachers and students should be caring. Caring means to kind, to be compassionate, and to be understanding towards others. Students and teachers should be kind to each other at all times, in order to maintain a safe and inclusive environment to learn and grow for all. All members of a classroom should be understanding to each other no matter the situation, which strengthens student-teacher relationships and forms strong and stable bonds. Here at B.E.S.T, we understand the importance of kindness in an academic environment, and we aim to maintain and strengthen the important virtue of caring in our academic culture and our classroom environment." - Winston

Problem Solver

"Problem-solving is the process of observing one's respective environment, identifying how things within that environment can be improved, and developing, and eventually implementing, multiple approaches and alternatives that could be possible solutions to the problem. Problem solving is an extremely important quality because of how it allows someone or multiple people to control the environment around themselves. Rather than becoming overwhelmed by the problems within their environment and/or situation, a problem solver directly observes and analyses these problems to overcome them and influence better change within their environment and/or situation." - Andrew

Responsible

"At B.E.S.T, you can count on the teachers and staff. We are clear with what we are responsible for; all of our work is done on time, in a suiting manner, and to our best ability. For instance, homework and material is assigned according to the student's needs and areas of improvement. This showcases responsibility and dedication towards teaching. Moreover, any suggestions or comments regarding the teaching or organization will also be taken into account, as responsibility includes properly running the program, B.E.S.T, to the best of our abilities. Comments are always feedback and opportunity for improvement. Not only does responsibility come from the teachers and staff but from the students as well. Homework or anything assigned is expected and should be done by assigned times; this creates an effective and comfortable environment for both students and teachers." - Karen & Jerry

Serious

"At B.E.S.T, being serious about what we do is not limited to one action. Seriousness encompasses many different habits, and tutors and tutees both work very hard to showcase the following traits. Seriousness includes respecting others, respecting others skill and ability. Seriousness includes being open to learning, as a student, accepting feedback from teachers, and vice versa, to show a commitment to improvement. Seriousness also encompasses time management and responsibilities, showing commitment to attending class, and if unable to, letting others know ahead of time. Seriousness is one of the key traits in learning, showing a willingness to learn, to speak, and to listen. It's a want to improve in a subject matter, and the steps that are taken to achieve advancement in skills, long term or short term." - Emily

Teamwork

"Having teamwork is having the ability to be compatible with others to achieve one common goal. It is to have the flexibility to listen to others opinions and thoughts and be able to implement that into your final goal. This can build your skills, particularly in the field of having self control, fights and arguments are inevitable when you are working in a group, whether it's about how you all have different ideas or just don't like each other, but this can teach you to be the gentleman here and resolve the problem in a non problematic way. This skill can be useful later on in your life, so at B.E.S.T we believe it is good to learn it earlier." - William, Michael & Ethan

Well-Organized

"Here at B.E.S.T we strive to provide our students with an appropriate learning environment where they can reach their full potential and learn crucial skills along the way. This is why organization skills are something that we prioritize. Being well organized ensures that our students can continue to learn and be engaged in an atmosphere where lessons, assessments and the overall classroom setting are well prepared and ready in advance. It is necessary to plan ahead in order to ensure proper communication between students and teachers, as well as productivity within classes. Here at B.E.S.T we put the students first!" - Maya & Grace
